Intimate Ceremony atop Medieval Walls in the Val d’Orcia

19 may 2017

A wedding ceremony in an original and unforgettable location, something never done before: this was the request of Jessica and Charles, a lovely couple from Florida who dreamed of getting married in the Val d’Orcia. After a lot of scouting, the choice fell upon the medieval walls of the town of San Quirico d’Orcia that overlook the splendid Renaissance garden, Horti Leonini. It was the perfect place to celebrate a symbolic ceremony surrounded by their closest relatives and friends.

After sharing many touching moments while getting ready at the Palazzo del Capitano, the couple walked up to the ramparts. Jessica, who is also a model, was stunning in her long traditional gown. She wanted a very simple bouquet and floral accents, just like her. Soft tones of hydrangea, roses, and buttercups in small wicker baskets were chosen.
Charles, a famous rally driver, wore a very elegant Calvin Klein suit.
Violin and flute music was played during the ceremony, which was celebrated in Italian as requested by the couple, while Jessica and Charles, who were both very moved, exchanged their vows.
The final touch, a champagne toast from above followed by a photo shoot in the center of the medieval village with its many enchanting backdrops that included a romantic waltz in the middle of the main square.
Intimate dinner for the guests in the cozy dining room of La Porta di Monticchiello, which was reserved for the party, featuring typical Tuscan fare accompanied by a selection of Brunello di Montalcino wine.
