Country chic & Super fun English Wedding in the Val d'Orcia

02 march 2018

Eleanor and Luke are a beautiful young English couple who had recently transferred to Boston. For their wedding, one of the most fun I have planned, they chose the Val d’Orcia, which they had discovered while on holiday.

They immediately fell in love with Terre di Nano, a splendid villa near Pienza and perfect place to welcome a long list of relatives in friends arriving from both England and the United States.
Eleanor wanted a simple and romantic wedding, which went hand in hand with the country chic style of the villa and its surrounding countryside.
The bouquet, by Flowers Living with roses and dahlias in pastel tones, perfectly matched her splendid Cymbeline gown, tailored by Mirror Mirror Couture. The same flowers for her six attendants, who wore long silk chiffon gowns by Maids to Measure.

After a long morning of diving in the pool and playing croquet on the lawn, Luke and his closest friends dressed up in elegant light blue suits with light green ties and pink-striped socks along with some fun neon green Ray Bans.

The very moving ceremony, celebrated by one of the couple’s dearest friends, took place at a lightly draped wooden arch in front of the stunning hills of the Val d’Orcia. After the celebratory rose petals, the newlyweds and guests enjoyed a rich aperitif with a view, enjoying Nobile di Montepulciano and Tuscan specialities – from bruschetta to cold meats, Pecorino di Pienza cheese with honey and mostarda as well as a variety of warm canapés.
Dinner was served in the olive grove: tables were decorated with olive trimmings and roses and lit by enchanting candles and string lights. The party was a whole lot of fun starting with 60s rock by the Last Minute Dirty Band that got the guests going and continued with disco music and cocktails until the early hours of the morning.
