Multicultural Wedding in the Heart of the Val d’Orcia

Rossella and Samson are a brilliant and cosmopolitan couple: she is Italian and he is of Indian heritage. They met while completing master’s degrees in Boston and decided to live and work in the United States; both are professors at a prestigious university.
For their destination wedding in the Val d’Orcia, they gathered their family as well as numerous friends and colleagues from around the world at Terre di Nano near Pienza.

Here, Rossella chose to play on the country chic style of the location. The palette in blue and bright yellow (her favourite colours) featured in the flowers that were strictly local and in season like daisies, hydrangeas, lisianthus, dahlias, and thistles in addition to the silver and green touches of olive branches.
The symbolic ceremony was especially moving, also thanks to the surprise performance by one of the bride’s best friends, a professional dancer.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the olive grove for dinner where two long tables were set under string lights, an enchanting setting. After the cutting of the cake - a classic mille-feuille which the newlyweds happily decorated on their own in front of their guests - the real party began with a Bhangra dance which Rossella, wearing a traditional sari, wanted to dedicate to Samson.
